2016 theme: Tarot
TAROT - What does your future hold?
For 2016 we presented the STYLEAID event to have its future read using the age-old craft of Tarot. Of the ten cards that were selected during the reading the three selected to represent the event presented a strong message for STYLEAID, the event.
The Magician, a Major Arcana card takes the power of the Universe and channels it through his body and directs it to the physical plane, he demonstrates his ability to channel inspiration, ideas, intentions and energy into something useful and worthwhile by grounding it in reality. When the Magician appeared in the reading, this signal indicated that energy generated by The Magician would be accessed by the STYLEAID committee in order to create and produce this year's event. The card predicts that the event has great potential and limitless possibilities using the inspiration, skills and initiative, the STYLEAID committee brings to this event.
5 of Cups
The 5 of Cups is a card that reminds us that where we put our focus in life has a great deal to do with the quality of our lives and how well they work for us. Most often, a sad or downcast figure is shown, with five cups. Three are spilled, and two remain upright and whole. This card is clearly directed to the work the WA AIDS Council undertakes in caring, supporting and counseling all people infected, and affected by HIV/AIDS. The services provided give people hope and the strength to leave their old way of life to seek a new direction. Despite the fact that this card has a strong indication of loss and tribulation, there is always a positive aspect that must be considered.
The Knight of Pentacles
The Knight of Pentacles does not indulge, or participate in senseless action. He approaches his time as he does the rest of his resources by using them to their maximum potential and advantage. After 19 years the enduring quality of STYLEAID, the event has remained steadfast and like the Knight represents work and effort in building a foundation supporting the dreams and goals of the STYLEAID committee. The knight of Pentacles points to messages, often in regard to money; a long term goal for the event in its endeavours to support and provide much needed funding for the WA AIDS Council.
