LABEL PROFILE

Jaime Lee Major is a visual artist based in Perth, Western Australia and was originally known for her explosive watercolour paintings. By 2008 she had her first solo exhibition at The Bakery, Artrage Complex and was selected for the Curvy 5 book, a Yen and Paper Tiger publication which showcase’s 100 of the best female artists from around the world. Graduating from the Central Institute of Technology with an Advanced Diploma in fashion and textile design, Jaime won the X-Press emerging designer and Minter Ellison awards. It was here where Jaime experimented with creating textiles that replicated her watercolour paintings and the natural progression from art into fashion evolved.

Jaime officially launched the “Jaime Lee” label in 2010. Her debut collection "Out of Focus" was favourite at Perth Fashion Festival in September 2010. Attracting global media attention, including a positive review on The New York Magazine's "The Cut".

Jaime's collection "Pollination", debuted at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and features an exciting collaboration with LA based latex designer Abigail Greydanus. With a hand embellished couture finishing and signature digital prints, with textural surface treatments, create a pollen-like texture. Primarily silks and natural fibers make up the collection, as well as an introduction of wool and various hand knitting techniques.
