This time next week…
Well dear readers I am sitting here getting ready to do our volunteer briefing and just realised that this time next week I will be getting ready on site to welcome our guests…there are usually 2 or 3 that come along early!
Each year we have over 350 volunteers who work on the night of the event and in terms of those from the AIDS Council that do the front of house work we have about 80 who sell red wrist bands, photographs and tombolas to help us raise more money.
They also help pack the famous STYLEAID gift bag and bump in and bump out the event. With out their help we could not do what we do as well as we do it!
They all work alongside the staff and of course my amazing committee to make sure that things run smoothly leading up to, and on the night.
Also, this year, we have a stage manager who is going to be looking after all of our performers on the night…with 7 different shows happening over the course of the night as well as the wonderful fashion parade we need someone who can get the performers into rehearsal and then on to the stage once it is their time to perform…a huge job and it is so good to have Zena on board this year to work alongside Tony Salom, Aly and myselft to make this all work smoothly.
So there are only 7 more sleeps - the table plan is done, the menu has been printed out and is ready to go to the PCEC, we packed the VIP gift bags today (amazing stuff for them this year - valued at over $300), inserted the subscription for BOX magazine into the magazine this afternoon, fielded a range of calls about what people should, would or could wear on the night and so things are all moving along at their usual pace for 1 week out from the event.
Hope you have a good weekend…I am going to try and take it easy and have a bit of a break before heading into next week…
Check back on Monday for another update and I will try and get something on here each day for you, so you can keep up with what is coming up.
Cheers! Mark xox
