Finally more pictures…
Well finally here are more images direct from the catwalk from the event…my apologies for the delay but the dreaded flu finally caught up with me last week and I have not been in the office for a couple of days.

Some more pictures and an update…
Well here I am rested after having a few days of and already my mind is moving onto 2008! Oh well why rest on your laurels when you have another great event to start planning for our 11th amazing year.
I received some great pictures of the fashion today but all the images are so big that I am waiting to make them smaller so that I can post them on here for you to all see…they are from a great photographer Brendan Beirne and I should have them up on here in the next day or so…please check back so you can have a look at them.
I am so pleased this year that I have received some wonderful emails from guests who attended the event to say how much they enjoyed it and that they thought it was the best one yet! This will give us all some thought about how we can make 2008 an even better event…that is why we start planning now…
Anyway pics to come in the next day or so…
Take care til then.

Front of house pictures…
Here are some great front of house pictures from stage and lighting supremo Tony Salom…
These great pictures show you some great views before and during the night that give you a real sense of the atmosphere and what was created on the stage…
Please enjoy them…
Some great pictures from backstage from artist Dragana…
Each year Dragana has been involved in STYLEAID, the past 7 at least, she has participated in a range of different ways, from working as a dresser to being a featured photographer in our special photographic component and helping out where she can backstage on the night.
Again this year she was once again present and accounted for and has taken some great pictures which you will find here on the blog so you can see some of the action from a backstage perspective…more to follow soon.
Enjoy!
Keep watching this space for some exciting announcements on how much money we made (our best year yet!) and also some other exciting announcements for the 2008 event! I know we have just finished this one but work is already beginning for next year!
Oh what a night!!!
Well dear reader, we came, we partied and we outfashioned all that have come before…!!!
STYLEAID Reflections has been and gone and watch out over the next few days as I get pictures in from the event and post them on here for you all to see.
725 guests came and saw one of the best fashion parades we have ever done, thanks to the amazing Aly May and her team not to mention Tony Salom and his amazing team of sound and lighting guys who did a great job too…with the assistance of the fantastic Zena who did our talent coordination and made sure we nearly ran to time…this was really a night of nights for us and I will be able to let you know in the next few days how much money we have made for the AIDS Council but I can already say we have done much more than the record from last year!
Matt Lee and his amazing team did a sensational job with our specially constructed stage and it blew peoples minds when they came into the ballroom and we were also able to announce on the night that Matt and VanLee group have now agreed to be the naming rights sponsor for STYLEAID for 2008 and 2009…which is just fantastic news for the event…
It is now Sunday night and I am heading to bed as the last few weeks have finally caught up but check back often as I get pics in I will post them here for you to see.
Thanks so your support this year and look out for another amazing event in 2008!
Mark xoxo
2 more sleeps and we have made it!!!!!
With just 2 more sleeps to go the excitement is building and with bump in beginning tomorrow the day promises to be huge!
I know I have talked about it lots but the stage is shaping up to be spectacular and we now just have to work out how it is going to get in and all will be great, of course there will be no problems and it will blow peoples minds.
This really is a special year for me, what with a fantastic naming rights sponsor and a stage that is fantastic, but once again to be working with the most amazing team of professional people around. From Aly and Tony to Annette and Stephanie and all the others on my committee who are putting in the hard yards to really make year 10 a big night.
Plus I have a dear freind who worked with me on STYLEAID 4 years ago flying in from Singapore with his partner to attend as well as one of my best freinds flying over from Sydney with his partner…it will be so nice in the five minutes that I usually get to sit down to have these people here with me for the event.
Speaking of support for me…my partner Trevor has been his usual inspirational, supportive self allowing me to come home grumpy and tired but always being there for me and letting me just be when I have needed to be. If I did not have him there it would make this all the more difficult.
STYLEAID really has evolved over the past 10 years and with some exciting announcements on the night promises to shine for more to come.
I will endeavour to post a couple more blogs before the night if I get time but if not be sure that there will be a full wrap up on Monday once the event is over and the dust has settled a bit.
We have already had over 100,000 hits this month alone and we are only at the 8th day so once again thanks for tuning in…

This time next week…
Well dear readers I am sitting here getting ready to do our volunteer briefing and just realised that this time next week I will be getting ready on site to welcome our guests…there are usually 2 or 3 that come along early!
Each year we have over 350 volunteers who work on the night of the event and in terms of those from the AIDS Council that do the front of house work we have about 80 who sell red wrist bands, photographs and tombolas to help us raise more money.
They also help pack the famous STYLEAID gift bag and bump in and bump out the event. With out their help we could not do what we do as well as we do it!
They all work alongside the staff and of course my amazing committee to make sure that things run smoothly leading up to, and on the night.
Also, this year, we have a stage manager who is going to be looking after all of our performers on the night…with 7 different shows happening over the course of the night as well as the wonderful fashion parade we need someone who can get the performers into rehearsal and then on to the stage once it is their time to perform…a huge job and it is so good to have Zena on board this year to work alongside Tony Salom, Aly and myselft to make this all work smoothly.
So there are only 7 more sleeps - the table plan is done, the menu has been printed out and is ready to go to the PCEC, we packed the VIP gift bags today (amazing stuff for them this year - valued at over $300), inserted the subscription for BOX magazine into the magazine this afternoon, fielded a range of calls about what people should, would or could wear on the night and so things are all moving along at their usual pace for 1 week out from the event.
Hope you have a good weekend…I am going to try and take it easy and have a bit of a break before heading into next week…
Check back on Monday for another update and I will try and get something on here each day for you, so you can keep up with what is coming up.
Cheers! Mark xox
Desperately seeking prizes….
![]()
Well dear readers it is only 8 more sleeps until the big night and we are frantically working to get things finalised and ready to go on the night.
So the reason for this post is to see if anyone out there who regularly reads this blog might be interested in donating some prizes to our night…
Each year as part of the night, to raise extra funds we have a tombola raffle where our guests purchase envelopes and are gauranteed to win a great prize. This year we are a little light on in terms of companies who have given us prizes for the night and as you would be aware every little bit helps.
If you are interested in getting your product out to this amazing audience of Perth Fashionistas and those who support the work of this great charity then please email me on mreid@waaids.com
I would love to hear from you.
