We’re rushing to get the website finished
The team behind this years website, Bam Creative, are furiously working to put the final sparkle on it before launching it this Friday.
With the Sunday Times publishing an article about STYLEAID this weekend, and the momentum already well underway, we’re rushing to get the online ticket sales and further information about the event into your hands - stay tuned!
A day in the life…
It’s funny to think of how an event can influence your life but over the course of the last nine years StyleAID has had a major influence on my life in so many ways.
As a person who has been living with HIV for over 18 years, working in the HIV/AIDS area has always been a passion of mine…being able to work to raise funds to assist in the provision of services is one of those passions that grows stronger and doesn’t diminish.
I take great pride in what I do and hope that in the scheme of the bigger picture that I am able to make a small difference in the work that I do.
Somedays it can be a bit of a struggle. Having recently changed my medication after being on one combination for the past 6 years there have been days when side effects have laid me low…but thankfully those have been quite rare.
I started this new regime before I came back to work towards the end of the long service leave that I took at the start of this year with the hope that I would be over some of the more severe side effects. Mostly this has happened but there have still been some days when side effects have affected my day.
But at the end of the day I would much rather deal with a few inconvenient side effects than think about the consequences of not being on treatments and what that would mean.
In this part of the StyleAID blog I will try and keep you up to date with my role as event manager and hopefully also give you some insight into what being a person living with HIV is like in 2006…

StyleAID is on the horizon
Well it is just 7 weeks away and here I sit at my trusty pc getting the first blog entry happening as we look to launch the StyleAID website. With assistance from the amazing team at Bam Creative you will see a site that has evolved like the event has evolved over the past few years.
My name is Mark Reid and I am the event manager for StyleAID so you will also find out more about me on here too, and that could be interesting.
This blog is your entry into the backstage world of one of the top fashion fundraising events in Perth. This blog will have info about the event but I hope to put a more personal spin on what we do to make the event what it has become over the past 9 years.
It will also be a chance for you to get more of an insight into some of the personalities involved in this event.
