STYLEAID second host announced!

Hi all…just wanted to let you know that our second host has been finalised for STYLEAID this year…the lovely Neralda Jacobs - the brand new newsreader for Network Ten will be joining Paul O’Brien on stage at STYLEAID.

I am so excited to have her as part of the on stage team this year and know she will add some glamour to the event.

Oh and by the way the event is now booked out but I have started a waiting list…

We are nearly sold out!!!

Well it has happened again…we are nearly sold out for STYLEAID…I have too many bookings currently so it will be those that pay up first that will get a seat or a table…thank you to all those that have paid so promptly and we are once again shaping up to have one of the best nights of the year!

It is so rewarding to know that we are just about there again in terms of payments and bookings because it means that once again we can make more money for the AIDS Council than ever before and truly cement STYLEAID as the fashion fundraising event in Perth.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all on the night!

Casting and the tale of the Lammy

Well here I sit at the end of casting day for STYLEAID and as I reflect on all of the great talent that we have here in Perth I thought I would take the time to recall a story that happened to us today whilst casting.

A very talented young model named Tammy Stone came to casting and as she approached our desk to get ready to walk for us she handed us her agency card.

Our very talented and inspiring fashion stylist Aly May took a quick look at the card and instead of calling her Tammy called her Lammy…I know what was she thinking…was it becuase she was wearing a lamb knit jumper in the photo on the front of her comp card, was it because she looked lamb like in her picture (we think not) or was it just a quick glance that was misread…I will leave it up to your imagination (it was the last one) but much laughter ensued and it was a constant source of fun for us for the rest of the day.

And lets face it if you are in the situation of sitting and watching many, many models walk for you for a day sometimes you need some lightness to break the day up a bit.

In saying that let me also say what a plethora of talent we did see today and all those that were seen by Aly, Tegan and myself can all be proud of how they presented.

We are in the process of making the decision as to who we will use this year and all the agencies will be told this coming week…we will also be looking for some more male models as we did not see enough today to meet our needs for the parade this year so will be doign another casting on Wednesday evening just for males to hopefully get the rest that we need.

So what a day it has been and thanks to the great agencies who have once again sent us some great talent to consider for this year….Viviens, Chadwick Model Management, Scene and Metro…

Those coming along to STYLEAID can look forward to seeing some of the best talent on the catwalk once again…

FIAT joins STYLEAID Renaissance

Well hi there…it has been a busy week but I thought I would take this time to sit down and tell you what has been happening this week.

FIAT have now come on board and are now the official car for STYLEAID Renaissance…you will be able to see some of the great new FIAT cars at STYLEAID this year and we thank them for coming on board to support the event and the charity work for the WA AIDS Council.

Also working madly this week on the STYLEAID magazine as the deadline looms near and along with Tamara Day ( who is working in the office with me a couple of days a week) and the wonderful Desiree Selvey our graphic designer who is putting the magazine together we have been working on getting something together that will be hotter than ever before.

Add the great photography from this year, some hot adds from our great sponsors and the top WA fashion and you will see a magazine that really is amazing…I am so unbiased as you can tell but this does promise to be the best magazine we have done in support of the event so far.

Finalising prizes for the auction as well and making sure that the auction items all get finalised…oh yes and also taking bookings and payments for tables…

Get in quick as we are selling lots of tickets each day at the moment and I am hopeful that we will sell out within 2 weeks!

Six Weeks and Counting

Well here we are just 6 weeks out from STYLEAID and the buzz is building…after our very successful Veuve Clicquot Sponsors night on Wednesday at (A)LURE at the Burswood Entertainment Complex - look out for the pics to hit the social pages next week!

Tonight sees us move the photographic exhibition into the Turner gallery for 3 weeks…so if you get a chance do drop in and have a look at some of the great shots on show.

Paul O’Brien confirmed as one of the STYLEAID hosts!

Well usually I do not get to make this sort of announcement until much closer to the event but I can reveal to you now that Paul O’Brien who plays Sgt. Jack Holden on Home & Away is set to take to the stage at STYLEAID as one of our stunning hosts for this year.

The other host for 2008 will be confirmed in the next week or 2 so stay tuned for more information as it comes to hand…

It is great to have Paul involved and he is really excited about making the trek across the country to take part in STYLEAID this year!

STYLEAID Renaissance here we come!

Well I am a little late starting the blog this year but here we go. Sorry for the delay but as you would be aware if you have followed our blogs for the past couple of years organising this event takes a little time and that has been my focus so far.

Now with the sensational new site for this year, we have once again taken a trip to a new dimension…add to that our move to the Burswood Grand Ballroom and a move to July and you have a great new look and feel for an old favourite.

This is year 11 and it promises to really be the best yet. I have been working along side one of the hardest working committees ever on making everything about this year special…so you can look forward to something unique, extraordinary and amazing as we head towards Friday 18 July.

Keep checking back as I promise you will get more and more as the weeks progress. We will also have some great guest bloggers on this year as well.
