ERICAAMERICA

Australia’s premier name in innovative menswear, in the last three years ericaamerica has established itself as one of the countries most talked about labels.

Founded in 2001 by experienced fashion designers Erica Wardle and Tristram John, and graphic designer Lucas Bowers, the label created immediate buzz, with the first collection selling through some of the hottest boutiques in Australia and internationally.

Aimed at providing a stylish, flexible wardrobe for the fashion conscious man with an individual streak, the label single handedly created a whole new menswear market, with a style that effortlessly blends formal and casual wear, streamlined cuts and soft, comfortable but durable, masculine fabrics.

Following a strong and succesful showing of the label’s winter collection in Melbourne last November, ericaamerica is presenting their inaugural individual collection show at this years Mercedes Australian Fashion Week.

Taking place on Wednesday the 5th of May in the spectacular surrounds of Sydney Town Hall the label reveals for the first time it’s Spring/Summer 04/05 collection - “Victoriana”.

A must see for anyone interested in innovative, stylish and beautifully constructed menswear, Victoriana teams up the more theatrical elements of ericaamerica with the stylish wearable garments that define the labels look. Featuring all the classic cuts that have become ricaamerica trademarks – jodphurs, exquisite hand pleating and bold graphic prints, Victoriana explores the world of menswear that might have been had the people of the period reflected their secret world of hedonism and immorality in the dress of the period rather than hiding behind straight faces and a uniform of black suits. The colection incorporates a look and feel consistent with classic Victorian icons, while tearing down the boundaries
established in mens clothing of the period.

Spring/Summer 04/05 is the strongest collection yet from the design trio and the next step in the journey towards the label becoming Australia’s premier luxury brand exclusively for men.
